So You’re Looking For a Poke Restaurant Open Late…

The poke bowl has really made its mark on American cuisine just over the course of the last 10 years. Poke is a Hawaiian dish that has been popular on the islands for as long as anyone can remember. However, poke hasn’t really been served here stateside in a mainstream fashion until recently. Now there are more and more Poke restaurants popping up everywhere as the mainland U.S. gets more into the “poke craze”, and Reno is no exception. With that said, the demand to get your fresh fish fix on never sleeps and more poke fanatics are on the hunt for a poke restaurant open late.

If you are already a poke fan, or are just ready to give it a chance, and do not have a normal schedule due to work or school, you may need a poke restaurant open late to get your poke fix. Reno has always been a 24-hour town. It doesn’t really matter what time it is here, you can generally find a bar or restaurant that is open near you. Monday through Sunday, 24/7. But for specialty foods like poke, you may have a bit of trouble finding a poke restaurant open late in the Reno/Sparks area.

So, we have decided to list a few poke restaurants in the area and what their hours are so you can find your favorite dish anytime you want it.

Poke Bowl Restaurants Open Late Near You

Poke King

Poke King – Northwest is a casual poke place located at 10490 N McCarren Blvd. They claim to be the “first poke shop” to open in the area back in 2017 and offer a standard variety of poke bowls and dishes. Poke King is open Monday through Sunday with regular hours of 11am to 9pm. There is also a Poke King location on Pyramid and McCarren in Sparks. For anyone looking for a poke lunch or poke dinner option, Poke King might be one for your bucket list.

Bluefin Poke

Bluefin Poke Reno is located downtown at 170 South Virginia street, kitty-corner to the Reno courthouse. Bluefin Poke claims on their website that they “believe in putting people before profit” and that they offer the best poke ingredients available. They are open Monday through Saturday from 12pm to 7pm, and closed on Sundays.

Now, we get that people need a break and that some days are slower than others. We can’t hold their days off against them. However, customers usually aren’t so forgiving. For anyone looking for a convenient poke restaurant that meets their hunger needs and fits within their schedule, Bluefin Poke‘s hours of operation may be an issue. Not being open on a day of the weekend is odd because the weekend is one of the rare times people are free all day to dine and take out poke.

Additionally, only operating from 12pm to 7pm means strictly lunch rush and early dinner customers allowed. If Bluefin‘s hours and days of operation fit in your schedule, give them a go. If not, you may need to find a poke restaurant open late that gives you the time you need to stop by.

Hinoki Poke

Hinoki Poke is located in south Reno near the Meadowood mall at 7500 Rancharrah Parkway. They don’t have a website and only a few bowls listed on their Google menu. Their Google profile descriptively states they “serve poke bowl” and that is it. They are open Monday thru Saturday from 11am to 8pm, and closed on Sundays. In other words, Hinoki Poke offers some convenient hours and 6 days out of the week to see what they have to offer.

Loco Ono

Loco Ono is a poke place near the marina in Sparks, located at 663 North McCarren Blvd. They serve poke bowls along with a variety of other Hawaiian BBQ dishes like chicken katsu curry and Spam musubi. And as someone who’s not a big fan of Spam, let me just tell you to throw those preconceived prejudices out the window. Spam musubi is a delicious and historically-significant Hawaiian dish that’s definitely worth sampling.

They are open Sunday through Monday from 11am to 9pm. Now that’s pretty good right? If you’re looking for a poke restaurant open late in Reno, 9pm is pretty good. That’s well past dinner time for most people and late enough for any night owls to make it in before cleanup time.

Ijji Japanese Restaurant

The final poke bowl restaurant we will look at today is ijji Noodle House and Poke Don located at 199 Damonte Ranch Pkwy. Ijji serves a large variety of Asian cuisine from Pho to a wide array of all-you-can-eat sushi as well as poke. They are open Sunday through Monday, all week long, from 11am to 9pm. Again, great hours for anyone looking for an early lunch up to a late dinner.

And let me just say for a moment that as a former sushi addict, Ijji was my go-to sushi restaurant in Reno for YEARS! I freaking loved this place and their quality and commitment to customer service speak for themselves. They’ve opened up a total of 4 locations since I first begin stuffing my face there years back. With that said, if I was looking for poke, I’d stick to a poke restaurant that specializes in it and head over to Ijji for a wide variety of sushi, sashimi platesteppanyaki, and a variety of other tasty Japanese dishes.
